FIGMA DESIGN CHALLENGE 2025

Imagine Airy: A Lighter Way To Live

Project Deck     Prototype

THE BRIEF FROM FIGMA:
Pick a shared everyday pain point, imagine a superpower to solve it, and design the tool that makes it safe and usable.

IDEATION
Everyday Pain Point As NYC commuters, our team noticed how hard it is to carry everything for a full day — from the morning commute to post-work yoga to late-night plans, without a chance to go home.

Our bags decide more than we think — what we carry, where we go, and what we leave behind

So we came up with our superpower:
A Pocket Cloud!
1. Always carry everything you need, with out feeling the weight.

2. Instantly store or summon items simply by actions and thoughts.

3. Access unlimited storage space, without restrictions.
However, even superpowers come with problems:
Unlimited Space comes with Unlimited Chaos!
With unlimited space, we might hoard what we don’t need, lose track of what we own, and struggle to navigate. And with invisibility comes a new kind of question: Is too much privacy a problem?

INTRODUCING AIRY: Pack Smarter, Live Lighter
We set out to create a physical model that makes breath visible and felt. Using paper—a material that is lightweight, flexible, and personal to assemble—we designed a curated origami kit that folds and inflates into a breathing sculpture. Paired with a guided app, Breathscape turns an invisible bodily act into an immersive ritual that is:

Tangible through touch, rhythm, and ritual
Personal through reflection, resonance, and emotional connection
The project draws inspiration from Rafael Lozano-Hemmer’s immersive installations and Karolina Maszkiewicz’s paper art for its organic, ephemeral qualities.

THE ORIGAMI KIT
The kit comes in a instructional envelope with a foldable petal box enclosed with origami paper and instructions. Lightweight sheets of paper are grouped by breathing exercises. They fold into paper balloons - sizes correspond with seconds of breaths - for users to inflate and assemble.
